I’ve been doing a lot of reading these days. I’ve decided to compile a list of my favourite books and audiobooks. Of course this list is ever growing, but here are my few recent favourites:
The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
I’d recommend this as an audiobook over an actual read, definitely use this to fall asleep – very meditative and puts life into perspective to quiet the mind. The last chapter – chapter ten about surrendering to life is amazing. After listening to this book my whole perspective on life was altered – for the better!
The Charisma Myth by Olivia Fox Cabane
I also listened to this one as an audiobook. Want to learn how to utilize your innate charisma in every day situations? This book is your answer. There’s a story about Marilyn Monroe turning her charisma on and off in the blink of an eye, really intriguing. Really great read for boosting confidence and creating self awareness.
Seriously…I’m Kidding by Ellen Degeneres
I couldn’t stop laughing out loud (on a plane, so embarrassing) while I was reading this, so good, so funny and definitely a must read.
The Beauty Detox Solution by Kimberly Snyder
This is my go to health book. It puts being vegan into simple terms, allowing for an easy understanding of how our bodies digest different foods, what the best way to transition to being vegan is and how to manage your food and energy day by day. It also has some great recipes including my favourite green smoothie recipe that I love to start my days with!
The Manuscripts Found in Accra by Paulo Coelho
Every chapter of this book blew my mind. Filled with amazing wisdom and spiritual advice, from love to beauty. It’s pretty intense, so be in a spiritually awakening mood before opening. It’s best read during a meaningful transition in your life.
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
This was one of the strangest but most beautiful books I’ve read. I love stories that contain so much imagination, I couldn’t stop being blown away by how incredible our minds are. A must read if you love fantasy fiction.
Sub Rosa by Amber Dawn
I read this book a while ago, it’s a lot like a younger, more feminine version of American Gods – definitely falls under the same fantasy genre. It follows a young girl who falls into a dark life situation – described as a dream-like world. Beautiful and etherial.
