I listen to Podcasts religiously whether it’s while I’m working, relaxing, working out, painting or baking. There’s so much to learn through the many great stories and interviews. Here’s a list of my all time favourites:
99 % Invisible has some of the most strange and unique stories. I’m always learning something new (and sometimes completely random but interesting) while I listen to this one. For example, there is an episode on Cow Tunnels in Manhattan and about an Island named after Busta Rhymes. It’s really great, you won’t be disappointed.
The Accidental Creative is a great Podcast for learning about how to manage your creativity in both work and life. I find this Podcast to be very inspiring and helpful when I’m feeling creative block or when I just need some motivation.
Design Matters with Debbie Millman is my all time favourite design Podcast. Millman interviews many different creatives in really engaging interviews. People such as Hartmut Esslinger, Tina Roth Eisenberg, Stefan Sagmeister and one of my favourite illustrators, Sara Blake, are only a few amongst the many brilliant creative people featured.
I like having this Podcast playing while I’m working on something creative. A lot of interviews with people within the many different fields of art and design. Great for generating new ideas.
Stuff You Should Know is fantastic. Definitely up there in my favourites. Episodes range from ‘How Barbie Works’ to ‘How Hip-Hop Works’. There are some really great episodes that will answer pretty much anything and everything you’ve ever wondered.
Typeradio is a great Podcast for typography and design enthusiasts alike. There’s a lot that can be learned through these interviews with the creative minds behind our favourite designs.
