My go-to lunch spot since I’ve started working downtown is The Nosherie, located at 575 W Georgia Street in Vancouver. Not only is it really close to my work, the salads are really tasty. In my experience of being a health freak and vegetarian my whole life, a good salad is hard to come by! My usual (and recommendation) is the yam and quinoa salad or the cous cous salad. It’s always a good idea to get in a lot of nutrients mid-day to avoid a mid-afternoon crash. Which is why I prefer the yam salad because of the many health and beauty benefits they have. Yams have lots of energy due to being a complex carbohydrate, they have tons of fibre, vitamins B and C, vitamin A (which is good for your vision and skin) and minerals like iron and potassium. I also often get a Revive Smoothie (kale, mango, pineapple, ginger and coconut water). It’s a great addition to the salad if you need a little something extra.
