Currently Obsessed: Liquid Lipsticks and Contouring Kits

Everyone knows I love my lipstick. I can’t go a day without it. So naturally, I have a list of my favourites, but there’s one in particular I am obsessed with this fall, Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. It’s amazing. It lasts forever. It comes in the best colours. And it’s cruelty AND paraben free. It’s one of the best matte lipsticks I’ve ever used, and I have used many different lipsticks. My favourite colours are Vampira (a dark cherry shade) for the night and Lolita (a chestnut blush shade) for the day.

Another thing I’ve been trying out is contouring. I’ve always just used a power foundation and some bronzer, maybe some blush depending on my mood – but I’ve seen more and more people using contouring techniques with amazing results. So naturally I wanted to test it out. I thought I’d share my two favourite contouring products – one powder and one cream. I personally prefer the cream – I think it might have something to do with being an artists and working with oil paint sticks. It just makes more sense to me than powder, but that’s totally a personal thing! The Highlight Lowlight Face Contour Duo from Sephora is my go-to. It’s really easy to apply and blend, so it’s perfect for a contouring newbie like me. The Step-by-Step Contouring Kit by Smashbox is also really great for someone who’s learning how to contour! Along with the contour, bronzing and highlighting powders, it comes with a contouring brush, as well as a step-by-step guide, including different techniques for different face shapes. I found this kit really helpful for learning how to contour – and after only a few trial and errors, it looked really great and natural!
